WCYG Logo
Client:
Woodson Chapel Church of Christ
The youth minister at the Church of Christ at Woodson Chapel was friends with my creative director at Talstone Group, and he decided the youth group needed a new logo. While the name “Woodson Chapel Youth Group” is somewhat generic, the initials “WCYG” have a cool ring to them, sounding like radio call letters. So a radio-inspired concept was in order. I drew a nifty radio tower, complete with old-school lightning bolts. It has something of a retro 1950s feel but with a more modern color scheme. (In print the gray color is actually metallic silver.)
The logo has been applied in a variety of places, from stickers to the youth group’s website to custom-made patches sewn on backpacks. It was a hit with everybody.
