BarCamp Nashville Website
Client:
BarCamp Nashville
BarCamp Nashville is Nashville’s premiere technology “un-conference”. It’s the hottest event for learning about technology and networking in a laid-back environment geared toward the technology/startup crowd. The first year was a surprising success, and the second year was even bigger.
When the third one came around in 2009, confusion had emerged over how to use the website: people had signed up on the site the year before, and it wasn’t clear that they needed to pre-register for the 2009 event.
So, working with UX guy Josh Oakes I developed a cleaner, more attractive interface for the website, which directed people which way to go depending on whether they already had an account and to sign up for conference sessions as well as see the schedule once it was announced.
The site is also designed to help people keep up with various goings-on, such as a blog and a Twitter feed as well as forums.
A grid, clean typography and a well-chosen color scheme were put to work to keep things organized and accessible.
