Graphic Design Case Study: Identity and Packaging for Garden Center

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow,” Audrey Hepburn once said, and whatever changes times bring, this idea lives through them. This graphic design and digital art project by tubik is also inspired by the beauty of flowers, leaves, and blossoming nature. Check the stylish and elegant packaging design and a set of bright, atmospheric illustrations developed as a part of the brand identity concept for the garden center and a plant nursery selling plants and gardening stuff.

The design process for the project included three creative tasks:

logo design and brand color palette
a consistent set of original brand illustrations for diverse marketing goals online and offline
packaging design

Identity and Packaging

The logo design for the project presents the combination mark in which the symbol echoes botanical motifs elegantly organized in a square shape, and the typographic part sets a strong visual connection with it using the same leaf shape as a part of the letter. The color palette features the domination of earthy natural colors, with different shades of warm, eye-pleasing brown for backgrounds and contrastive bright blue, green, yellow, and other shades for accents and details, distinguishing different products and goods by color marking. This approach can be seen in a variety of packaging design items.

Brand Illustrations

The consistent set of illustrations developed for the project features a variety of people and characters holding different plants or dealing with gardening routines. Digital artworks of this kind add a solid human element to brand communication and make it more emotional. They can be effectively used for a variety of marketing goals, from printed branded graphics such as posters, banners, cards, and stickers to packaging design such as various branded boxes and bags, to digital communication on a website, hero images, landing pages, and social media posts. The consistency of the visual approach helps to create an integral customer experience and strengthens brand recognizability.

Our new diverse collection of digital artworks in D4U Gallery features four animal illustration sets in different design styles and approaches to color palettes, composition, and general ideas to transfer. Under the Same Sun: Animals and People

We all, humans and animals, share one planet, one sky, and one ground, and we all live under the same sun. That’s the theme for our new set of digital artworks, full of grace and cuteness, fun and unconditional love, harmony and devotion, wildlife and humanity. Dog Breeds Illustration Set

This illustration project is both beautiful and educational. It provides a brief illustrated introduction to different dog breeds famous all over the world, their history, and their famous breeders.

Playful Jack Russel Terrier dogs and John Russel who first bred them.

Cheerful and super clever Border Collie dogs and their breeder Adam Tefler, whose dog Old Hemp is considered to be a progenitor to the breed.

Cute, snow-white, and fluffy Samoyed dogs and their known breeders Ernest and Clara Kilburn Scott.

Big, supportive, and hard-working St Bernard dogs were originally bred as rescue dogs by the hospice of the Great St Bernard Pass on the Italian-Swiss border, built by and named after Italian monk Bernard of Menthon.

Cute Japanese Chin dogs are known for their importance to the Japanese nobility. They quickly got their high position in the Japanese Imperial palaces, where they were closely kept and guarded, while for a long time, mere peasants were not allowed to own them as the small dogs became treasures more valuable than gold.

Lovely and clever Belgian Shepherds that present the breed of very diverse looks.

Funny Welsh Corgi dogs and their most well-known fan Queen Elizabeth II.

Today the world celebrates Earth Day, a kind reminder for people all over the planet to take care of our common home. People and nature have to live in harmony to survive, and that’s the art of small steps and big awareness. Concerned about that problem, many artists add their artworks to attract attention to it and inspire people to unite in saving forests, oceans, and glaciers, caring for wildlife and flora, reducing waste and recycling, using alternative and harmless power sources, and solving multiple other issues to live in harmony with nature and save the planet for the next generations.
